Don’t believe everything you think!

The messages we give our mind are of the utmost importance. We act as if our thoughts are random and out of control – as if they are being put into our minds by chance, fate, a higher power…anyone but ourselves. But WE are the ones who initiate each thought, each interpretation, each idea. This is the basis of changing our lives. We know that becoming an adult means accepting responsibility and the ultimate responsibility is responsibility for our thoughts. It is easy to let thoughts run away with us, but if we don’t stop to be mindful of what we are thinking, we may be living our lives by thoughts that are not even correct. We need to notice that our thoughts are shaping every action and detail of each day. When you allow yourself to think negative or erroneous thoughts, you will begin to believe that there is absolute truth in those thoughts.

We give ourselves messages all day long that might be incorrect and yet those thoughts will influence the eventual outcome – ‘I am sure this injection will hurt, I bet my husband doesn’t love me as he never brings me flowers , I am sure I can’t do another ten sit ups, I think my sister is angry with me as I haven’t heard from her in weeks’…etc
We suppose situations all day long before they have happened – and they are nearly always negative. What if for just one day we were completely aware that we would only allow our brains positive messages? We DO initiate our thoughts, they are NOT random impulses. So let’s decide for 24 hours to tell ourselves that we CAN do those sit ups, that the injection will NOT hurt, that our sister is busy and that our partners show us love in other ways.
Master your thoughts and everything else suddenly falls into place.
